Truly
heard.
People mean well. But they keep stepping on each other's toes. In meetings nobody says what they really think. After the meeting it's grumbling in the corridor. There's plenty of communication. But no real connection.
What we hear.
There's communication. Lots of it. But communicating and connecting are very different things. Connecting communication is the foundation of everything we do at Human Matters.
Why communication breaks down.
Judgements block the conversation
People speak from judgement and expectation, not from observation and need. That closes the other person off immediately.
Emotions get suppressed or explode
Treating emotions as weakness leads to either total bottling up or an explosion at the wrong moment.
Hard conversations get postponed
Until it's too late. Until the tension is too high. Until it's no longer about communication but about relationships.
What changes.
Participants don't just learn to speak better. They learn to listen in a way that makes the other person feel truly heard. That changes everything. Built on 35 years of practice and Marshall Rosenberg's methodology.
“ Feeling well in your skin and communicating connectedly are extremely important for us. Human Matters helps us with that, year after year.
What you want to know.
How is this different from assertiveness training? ›
Assertiveness training teaches you to defend your own view. Connecting communication goes further: you also learn to truly hear the other's view, and you look for the underlying need on both sides. That doesn't produce winners, but real solutions.
Is this for soft people, or also for hard sectors? ›
Antwerp Police Zone, tradesmen at Alkas, logistics at Colruyt. It works in every sector and with every profile. The method adapts to the language of the organisation.
What if some participants are sceptical? ›
Good. Sceptics become the best ambassadors when the training is concrete and practical. We always start with real situations from the participants' own work.
Is there a difference for French-speaking teams? ›
No. We train in NL, FR, EN and DE. Ann-Cécile and Jaquie lead the French-language tracks. The content is identical, the language and examples are adapted.
How does this combine with other Human Matters programmes? ›
Connecting communication is the foundation of almost everything we do. It combines strongly with feedback culture, decision-making and leadership development.

Just
say it.
You have run trainings before. Two months later everything is back to how it was.
Decide
together.
Your meetings run too long. There is a lot of talking.
Dare to
speak.
Your team knows something is going wrong. But nobody says it.
